Of course, this presupposes that your ISY would be aware of your system's arming state and be able to react to it, which I presume will be included in the upcoming Elk module. If the ISY could retrieve this info (it's not in the WeatherBug module, but could be retrieved in feed form from the NOAA using the ISY's latitude/longitude like this), your Elk could read you an abbreviated forecast in the morning. A cool (and potentially useful) use for this would be to set up the Elk to announce the current temperature, along with the forecasted high and low temperature and maybe even the % chance for rain for the day upon disarming the system in the morning. I've managed to create some programs that make my Elk announce the current temperature. It's prompted me to think quite a bit about how this could be used. In playing around a bit, I was able to set up programs to arm my system. #ELK M1 ETHERNET MODULE ACTIVETCL FULL#The full control protocol can be found at Įlk also have a little Windows utility to calculate the CRC available for download at We will have to wait for the ISY team to complete their Elk M1 module for that. Unfortunately, this is all one way and cannot read any values from Elk. Many commands are possible, such as turning on/off/Toggling outputs, triggering Tasks in Elk, simulating function Key presses on a keypad, arming and disarming, sending test to keypads, speaking words (if you have the M1 Gold). To port 2101 at your Elk M1XEP IP address, using an ISY network resource set to TCP/IP and C Escaped Mode.Ġ0000 = Time to remain on in seconds (0 is forever) Until then, it is possible to CONTROL functions in Elk M1 from ISY using the network module and the Elk M1 Control RS-232 ASCII String Protocol.įor example, to turn on Output 1 in Elk M1, you simply send Ther's been many requests for better integration between Elk M1 and ISY, which may well be forthcoming in a future firmware release, or by module purchase.
